The grill is cool and the atmosphere it creates is cool. A real summer passion, spiced up with social experiences, infused with atmosphere. What's the best thing about barbecuing? All ages can be part of it. The little ones can marvel at the sight of tasty meat smoking on the grill, and adults can marvel at the preparation.

What to grill
The barbecue season is definitely here. People are already longing for the outdoors and after long months of „confinement” it is refreshing to participate in such an event. This is undoubtedly what we need now.

In one of our previous articles, we mentioned that food trucks as a gastronomic sector are in a winning position at the moment, as they go where the customers are. But it should also be remembered that there are many restaurants and gastronomic businesses that are particularly well placed to organise a barbecue.

We visited one, and we were right to do so. A Firecracker Boutique, and its owner, Dániel Tőkés, recently organised a very successful Grill-Party. This event was important only because the venue was Székesfehérvár. A place that, due to its location, has somehow not been very good at gastronomic events. Obviously this is no coincidence. Halfway between Lake Venice and Lake Balaton, it is, shall we say, a little „forgotten” in terms of tourism, not to mention the handicap of the pandemic.

That is why we need people like Dániel Tőkés, who goes against the wind. The world-travelled chef returned home, tried out the kitchens of various restaurants again, and then decided to move to his native Fehérvár with his partner. He set up his own business, Böllér Boutique, which, with its theme, is undoubtedly a niche in the region. Quality meats of the highest quality can be found and bought from his refrigerated counters, and you can be sure that as a chef he can give you expert advice. So it's no coincidence that the small meat kingdom quickly gained a reputation. And the icing on the cake is that you can not only buy the fantastic food, but also eat it and take it home.

So he had the young drive and the basis to take on the organisational tasks and start organising a barbecue. Naturally, he found equally creative and willing partners. The Farm and Hübris.

A Farm Angus is engaged in beef breeding and maturation and aims to produce the highest quality. They are expert handlers of the cattle they breed, and are a major supplier to the gastronomy industry. A Hubris „craft beer minus craft...” came to the party with his special beers. A Hungarian-owned craft brewery with a youthful spirit, still run by the founding brewmasters. Currently they have a 2000 litre brewhouse, located in Székesfehérvár, on Váralja row.
On the road ahead... This is not the end! In fact!
Let Székesfehérvár be the gastronomic centre of the smaller region! - this was the goal set by the participants. The Grill Party was just the beginning. It's clear that many more people need to join the initiative, and the city's support is clearly needed, but the path they have set out on can bring significant changes to the city. Tourism is not in its heyday, but it is also important to have a local audience and to provide people with high quality gastronomy at affordable prices. Székesfehérvár has been given an opportunity with this initiative, as young, ambitious people and businesses have started to pull the wagon that has been stuck in a rut for a long time. We can be sure that whoever is behind the initiative, they will continue it, and a local food-truck festival is already being planned...but that's a secret!
