If February, then Nutella! It's perhaps no coincidence that the harshest winter month is now the perfect time to savour the sweetness that perhaps no other competitor in the world has matched. World Nutella Day is on 5 February. To mark the occasion, we have an astonishing recipe and lots of special things about Nutella.  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nutella is considered one of the world's most irresistible sweets, but its World Day has been a source of controversy for several years. World Nutella Day was the brainchild of American blogger Sarah Rosso and was first celebrated in 2007, but only as an online organisation. But the candy maker Ferrero retaliated and banned the day, although the latter was less legally meaningful. Later, however, the two parties somehow reconciled and Sarah Rosso transferred the patent rights to the World Day to Ferrero in 2015. How much and at what price is not reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M<\/strong>what is Nutella?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An Italian sweet, Pasta Gianduja, was the ancestor of Nutella. This hazelnut cream was created by Pietro Ferrero, the owner of the bakery and confectionery that later became famous. This was after the Second World War, when there was a shortage of chocolate sheets, so the Italian pastry chef turned to an old recipe, gianduja, in which chocolate is replaced with hazelnut cream. All this was done in the Italian region of Piedmont, famous for its hazelnut production. Pietro later improved the paste to make it creamier and christened it Supercrema. But that was not Nutalla's birthday, as it was constantly improved and refined until, in 1963, it was in the perfect form we know today. This version was developed by Pietro Ferrero's son Michele Ferrero. He also named it Nutella. Production started in 1964 at the factory in Alba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, Nutella has conquered the world, with almost 400,000 tonnes produced every year and sold in more than 160 countries around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's in Nutella?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hazelnuts make up only 13% of the ingredients in Nutella. A 400 g jar contains approximately 50 nuts. It's mostly sugar, but also contains palm oil, skimmed milk powder and cocoa powder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to make Nutella Gyros<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Marinate the meat in the peanut butter for 5-6 hours, then place it on the grill and finally in the pita with the usual vegetables. You can also season with cumin seeds, cayenne pepper and fresh lemon juice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, and don't forget to eat some Nutella on World Nutella Day, maybe it will bring abundance, like lentils on New Year's Day! <\/p>\n
