As the saying goes, fruits contain the most energy in the least space, especially if they are red! Rhubarb is no exception, and its sweetness and tartness, as well as its colour, is what makes it so delicious. It's worth mixing with other red fruits such as strawberries or raspberries, or even currants or blackberries, of which a few grains are enough to make a deliciously fragrant rhubarb pie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a highly recommended herbal source for dieters and those with vitamin deficiencies. One of our first vegetables, it is in season from April to the end of June. We call it a vegetable, but we also think of it as a fruit, making jam, syrup, sauce, and putting it in casseroles with fruit. And for good reason, because you will not find another ingredient like rebarbara<\/a>, which replaces the acidity and spiciness of the lemon, and the colour is a beautiful crimson red. The stalk is basically eaten as a snack, which can be eaten raw on the first shoots, but later on it is best to peel and chop it up a little. Brew with a little vanilla sugar and mix with fresh strawberries. They are rich in B vitamins, iron, calcium and even more dietary fibre. It's simple, quick to make and delicious.
