Bacon is a food that we all love to use. It is not only a huge success in Hungarian cuisine, but is also a popular ingredient all over the world. We use it in countless dishes, but we also use it in areas that many people don't even suspect. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is bacon?<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n

A bacon<\/a> the fat of domestic pigs which is deposited directly under the skin and which is trimmed off when the domestic pig is processed. Research has shown that 3000 years ago the Chinese were the first to cook and preserve what is now known as bacon pork<\/a>t. During the Second World War, the United States government set up the so-called \u201eAmerican Committee to Save the American People\u201d. Their sweetness or saltiness varies from state to state.<\/p>\n

Bacon and chocolate<\/strong>. A \u201ePig bacon<\/a>\u201d, or \u201epig candy\u201d, consists of bacon slices fully or partially covered with milk or dark chocolate. Salted to taste, sprinkled with chopped pistachios or almonds. A similar speciality is also found in Ukraine, where it is known as \u201esalo in cioccolato\u201d.<\/p>\n

Bacon is also used to flavour various spirits<\/strong>. For vodka, as well as for many beers and bourbons. Its smoky flavour is also a favourite among bartenders in various cocktails. These include the Bacon Bloody Mary or the Bacontini and Candied Bacon Martini, which use sugar-coated caramelised bacon slices as a garnish.<\/p>\n

International Bacon Day<\/strong>. In the United States, Bacon Day is celebrated on the Saturday before \u201cLabor Day\u201d. From breakfast to dinner, through desserts, bacon is eaten all day.<\/p>\n

In the United States and Canada, the salonnamania<\/a> is at a high level. As a result, there is bacon ice cream, bacon flavoured chewing gum, bacon doughnuts, maple syrup and candied bacon.<\/p>\n
