The MT\u00dc has always been committed to feeding data back to service providers, as relevant statistical information is also a key input for their business decisions. Service providers can then plan their day-to-day operations, including their marketing and communication strategies, on the basis of up-to-date information.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accordingly, the MT\u00dc has further developed its feedback platform for accommodation providers, taking into account the needs of the sector, and created the NTAK Guidelines. On the online interface<\/a> in addition to revenue and capacity data, accommodation establishments can also retrieve pre-booking data and information on guest traffic and the outbound market. Moreover, individual operators could compare their results with the average performance of accommodation in other municipalities. The aggregated data can be used for business planning, pricing, marketing and sales activities. This allows operators to plan in a targeted and strategic way and to measure the impact of their decisions with greater accuracy. This can help to optimise their operations and streamline their development, which can significantly increase their competitiveness in the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Results of the NTAK<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Before the mandatory introduction of the NTAK for accommodation providers in 2019, roughly 3-4 thousand of accommodation providers used the software, a number that has now increased to 45 thousand, of which 70% send data to the NTAK on a daily basis. As a result, the paper-based guestbook has been phased out and the accommodation sector has now fully migrated to digital sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the key findings of the NTAK data for the accommodation services sector is that while it was previously impossible to get an accurate picture of the sector's current performance, today we have precise information on, for example, which countries attracted the most tourists to Hungary last weekend, what percentage of them stayed in 4-star hotels and how much they spent in hotels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The data received by the NTAK will show the performance of each catering business, such as turnover or average basket value. It also gives a more accurate picture of the average time spent by customers in a particular type of catering outlet, the products they consume, the events they attend and the number of people who attend. The data will also contribute to understanding trends in food or drink consumption and, through this, to promoting national wine consumption and improving hospitality education and chef training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mandatory from 1 July 2023<\/a> the NTAK data for operators of catering establishments and tourist attractions whose net turnover in 2022 exceeds HUF 100 million per service location. From 1 January 2024, catering businesses and tourist attractions with a net turnover of between HUF 12 million and HUF 100 million will also be included in the data transmission. Anyone providing information can contact the customer service, which is available 24 hours a day, by phone and e-mail, or the Tourinform offices, which can also help them in person.<\/p>\n
