This spring, the entertainment industry was also hit hard by the new type of coronavirus epidemic, and no domestic operator, including the Hungária Circus, was an exception. In addition to the fact that the company, which was built on an eight-generation dynasty, was facing an existential crisis, the feeding of its wild animals was also a serious problem.

The inexorable fact is that anyone who makes a living from clients, patients, customers, guests, suffered a pandemic of Covid-19 in the spring beyond imagination. The service sector, as we all know, has been paralysed, paralysed, paralysed - globally. Transport, retail, media, beauty, health care, tourism, hospitality, and so on: the financial losses incurred have in many cases required drastic action by companies, with a prolonged and growing sense of insecurity in their wake.

It is not that in such a situation the actors are trying to „trump” each other, but unfortunately there are those for whom the economic and existential damage has been compounded by additional problems. One such example is the world of circuses in the entertainment industry, where the loss of income from ticket prices has put the very existence of the animals at serious risk, as in the case of the Hungária Nagycircus. The company, formed from the dynasties of Adam and Wertheim, renews its programme every year, presenting world-famous and award-winning productions, and travels the length and breadth of the country every season. The circus, which also features Bengal tigers and giant white lions, is one of the largest in the country, but as they prepared for the closure in March, they were also preparing a crisis strategy: which of their transport vehicles to sell at a discount to finance and feed their wild animals.
When the Matusz-Vad Zrt. the Győr office learned that the Hungária Nagycirkusz, based in Győrújbarát, was facing problems of this nature and scale, and immediately offered its support. 400 kilograms per week for four months from March, totalling more than 3 tonnes until July. wing meat was delivered to the company to help feed the big cats.

The Hungária Nagycirkusz is now touring the country again, to the delight of its audiences, and is holding its cancelled performances with increased hygiene protocols and a more gentle second wave. Their programme is constantly under construction, for more information on the venues of their performances, please visit their website
