The Halal certification scheme is important for anyone who is concerned about quality. Whether you are a supplier, a distributor or a consumer - it is clearly an important factor. Food safety has received a lot of attention in recent years, partly due to the epidemic in the world.

Preventing the spread of disease has become a central factor - and proper food safety is an integral part of this. Major advances have been made in hygiene and quality assurance around the world. It is no coincidence that demand for HALAL certified products has increased.

„Halal” as a concept comes from the Arabic language, meaning „permissible, pure, lawful”

What is HALAL certification

The concept of halal is based on the principle that the product meets Islamic requirements at source. It could be tourism, travel, banking, medicine or even a cosmetic product. It includes the logistics of transport and the services quality. The Halal certification scheme is vital for consumers who prefer to eat such certified foods. Most importantly, according to the Islamic religion, it is important - based on the scriptures of the holy books - to prescribe the consumption of such food and ingredients. Although for a very long time there was little global attention to Muslim customs, recently there has been rapid development in the product service sectors. The Netherlands is leading the way, with a strong focus on the distribution and storage of halal products. Halal food production requires solid ingredients - thus reducing the possibility of contamination.

Why Halal certification is good

In the case of Halal products, purity can only be 100%, and to achieve this, the entire chain - from procurement, through production and distribution, to the sale of the goods - must be controlled!
When companies in the food industry are Halal certified, there are several benefits. One is clearly an ethical one, namely confidence in the products, giving consumers guidance on the quality of the products. This can clearly increase market opportunities and give an advantage in a competitive environment. Through Halal certification, companies have demonstrated compliance with food safety, purity and hygiene standards, while preparing and marketing products in accordance with religious requirements.
