Even though the European Union has adopted a resolution that no one should enjoy privileges in relation to vaccination, there is a heated debate in some Member States to the contrary. In Germany, the card is not due to be introduced until the beginning of the summer, while Greece and Israel have already mutually accepted each other's cards. This news suggests that the card could become the mainstay of summer tourism. It is also clear that countries that rely mainly on tourism are very open to any solution that could help to relaunch this industry. The forthcoming EU Parliament session in mid-March will focus on a single regulation on the vaccination card and some analysts are predicting a common systemic solution by mid-June.
It is very likely that an app-based solution will be the winner at international level, as proof of vaccination is only important from the individual's point of view. It is well known that a vaccinated person can catch and spread the virus in the same way, only the course of the disease will be milder and shorter. From the community's point of view, the PCR test is the only safe data, but it expires in 3 days. However, the reliability of this proof is vital, at the moment there is no guarantee and everyone knows this and many people are probably abusing it.

Hungary also plays a pioneering role, as the card was introduced on 1 March. In our country, the national consultation is expected to give the government the mandate to extend the scope of its use, which could easily make it part of our everyday lives.
In the fight for vaccination and the enforcement of the card could play a major role, because if the service industry could only use it, or even if the card could be added to the possibility of eating on the spot in catering, then the vaccination uptake in Hungary would certainly increase. The steeply rising virus curve in the current situation (6 March 2021) suggests that the announced post-Easter opening will only be conceivable under certain safe conditions, based on the experience of the virus curve so far. Point 6 of the consultation makes it clear that we can certainly expect to see the imposition of ID cards in certain areas if we wish to use them: (quote from the national consultation)
“There are those who say that people should be allowed to attend events, concerts, festivals and sporting events if they have a pass. Others say these events should not be held or allowed until the epidemic is over. “
One of the leading news portals also conducted a non-representative survey with questions asked in the official national consultation, to which a very large number of respondents replied, and this suggests that this question is likely to receive strong support for the use of the ID card in a positive direction from respondents.
All service providers and restaurateurs should obtain the immunity certificate, because if it turns out that services can only be used with it, it is inconceivable that service providers should not be required to have it. Of course, this is only an assumption today, but it could soon become a reality and then the rush is on.
One thing is for sure, these cards are not being introduced for show and if we are spending so much money on them, they will not be with us for a short time.
The card can be obtained not only after receiving the vaccination, but also by presenting a positive COVID antibody result from an official laboratory, at any government office customer window. However, don't forget to bring a deposit slip of 3,000,- HUF with you, because e.g. at the government office in Győr ETO park, you cannot pay with a card on the spot. My experience..
The fee shall be paid by transfer to the account of the Government Office of the Budapest Capital City at 10023002-00301253-00000000 pursuant to point b) of paragraph 11 of Government Decree 60/2021.
