The Audi-Dining Guide Restaurant of the Year Awards Gala took place on 16 May. The most prestigious event of the Hungarian gastronomy was hosted by the Várkert Bazaar. A eagerly awaited The event was attended by the stars of the hospitality sector, the media and many others, as many people were eager to find out who this year's winners would be.

Ex-Michelin director Fausto Arrighi helped select the TOP10 restaurants

As in previous years, the Dining Guide has asked Fausto Arrighi to help it compile this year's TOP10 ranking. Fausto Arrighi, ex-director of the legendary Michelin Guide, has been a leading consultant to the Dining Guide for the 6th year in a row. In recent years, he has been constantly testing the performance of Hungarian restaurants, and with him, he has created a internationally well an expert in the field, who is well aware of the achievements of top Hungarian gastronomy in the broad sense in recent years.

Zoltán Herczeg: „Although the world and domestic gastronomy has been hit particularly hard by recent events, with temporary restaurant closures, but the number of domestic topététros has increased. He also stressed that the list, which is the result of a thorough examination and consideration of the final results of restaurant tests, is not intended to „give away” positions, and certainly not to „punish” performance. „The aim of the publication is to assess the performance of restaurants in Hungary from the perspective of the restaurant-going consumer and to recommend them to readers.”

Winners of new award categories

The best of the best and the top cocktail bar in the country. A new feature of the Audi-Dining Guide TOP100 Restaurant Guide introduced this year is the creation of a new category, Best Of The Best, in line with international practice. This will be awarded to those who have been featured in the Restaurant Guide at least 3 times in recent years and have set an example for the industry with their outstanding work. The Dining Guide Best of The Best ranking can be maintained as long as the professional management of the unit and the location of the unit remain unchanged.

The domestic bar scene has been developing in recent years. Several cocktail bars in Hungary have shown that we have caught up with the world in terms of quality and creativity in this area. Today, Hungarian bar culture is not only satisfying the needs of foreign guests, but also serving the growing number of Hungarian connoisseurs.
