Veal spine is a real festive staple, whether it's Valentine's Day, Christmas or an anniversary. Because we know that not everyone loves to cook as much as they love to eat, we've come up with a recipe that anyone can easily make for their loved one
Ingredients
- Veal spine
- New potatoes
- Baby carrot
- Vaj
- Olive oil
- Thyme
- Garlic
- Sugar
- Salt
- Bors
Preparing the veal rump
- Remove the skin from the veal backbone.
- Make a mixture of salt, pepper, thyme, crushed garlic and oil. marinade, rub the meat with it (leave to mature for 1 hour with the spices), then fry in a pan with a little oil until crispy on all sides.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees for about 20 minutes, until the centre of the meat is pale pink (you can check this with a thermometer - if it's 50-52 degrees, you're done). Be sure to let the meat rest afterwards.
- Meanwhile, boil the washed new potatoes in salted water, but be careful not to overcook them. Cool slightly, cut in half. Cook the peeled baby carrots in salted water with sugar for 10 minutes. Toss the vegetables in hot butter.
- Cut the meat into slices and serve with the prepared garnish.
