There are quite a few holidays that are important and recur every year. But this is a day that is also hugely significant for us. World Food Safety Day is important for all those who work with food, so it is also of particular importance to MATUS-VAD. We would like to raise awareness of it, as it is part of our everyday life and is extremely important for us. important factor. Let this be a day to reflect on the essence, to examine our own activities, our own methods.

Let's celebrate the fourth World Food Safety Day together
7 June 2022 is the day to think, reflect and celebrate at the same time. World Food Safety Day was introduced not so long ago. The need for a World Food Day and its intrinsic importance was first addressed in 2015. And the UN adopted the proposal on 20 December 2018. The EU's food safety policy had a dual purpose. On the one hand, it was to ensure that EU citizens have a safe and healthy food made from healthy plants and animals on their plates. nutritious foods and to ensure that the food industry - the largest manufacturing and employment sector in the EU - can operate under the most favourable conditions.
Naturally, our country joined in, as its importance is much greater than we think. After health, food safety is perhaps the second most fundamental issue that households and food service businesses deal with. It is therefore vital that we address it as a top priority, taking care to the continued protection of, while at the same time developing.

Why this World Day is important
World Food Safety Day is an annual event that draws attention to the prevention, recognition and management of risks from food. Food safety is essential for our health and general well-being. Everyone has a role to play, whether they grow, process, transport, store, sell, buy, prepare or serve food.

70% of foodborne illnesses occur in households, due to improper handling or storage of food. The National Food Chain Safety Office (NÉBIH), which is 10 years old this year, is raising awareness of this - personal responsibility and good practices for prevention - in its social campaign on the occasion of World Food Safety Day. Good food handling rules should become part of our everyday practice. Only companies that are aware of this and comply with all the basic regulations can supply people with food. This is exactly what MATUS-Vad is calling attention to! For a professional, high-level food business, this is perfectly clear. Obviously it requires expertise, attention and precision, which - when it comes to safety - cannot be otherwise.

MATUS-VAD for hygiene and food safety
Food businesses are mushrooming these days. The market justifies this, which is a perfectly natural process. It is therefore possible to operate ideally on the basis of supply and demand, but this is not enough to ensure that households and businesses have access to products and raw materials of sufficient quality. We feel it is our vocation to provide the best possible service and the highest possible food safety standards. That is why we call on those who deal with food to choose only those sources of supply with the right expertise. By joining the NÉBIH's social campaign, which started on 30 May 2022 and will run until 7 June, our company also makes this a priority.

The most important condition for food safety
„SAFE FOOD FOR A HEALTHY TOMORROW”
Regular laboratory testing of products is a key requirement for food safety, but in addition to traditional analyses, new challenges need to be met: allergens, pesticides, doping agents in food supplements, GMOs, or even compounds that can leach from packaging into food - all these substances need to be tackled. But food chain safety is not just a matter for food companies and the organisation that controls them. Education in this area is also very important! In addition to prepared businesses and a strict, consistent authority, informed consumers also have a key role to play in maintaining the safety of the food chain. So it all goes from the producer to the consumer.
