Today, vegetarians can find a range of quick and filling meals in restaurants and recipe videos. We just have to choose, and here's another idea with lots of vegetables.

Many people still live with the stereotypes that a vegetarian diet is all about feeling hungry all the time, about eating boring and tasteless vegetables and grains. In contrast, carnivore or non-meat eater, the first thing you reach for is a bowl of fresh vegetables cooked in a crispy bundle, especially if it comes with a dipping sauce.

Vegan food is good and very good

True, I have found that a good dose of creativity is needed to make varied and tasty meat-free meals make. Seeds often need to be soaked, ground or more often marinated, perhaps sliced. But the end result is always exciting, colourful, full of antioxidants and vitamins. There is a reason why vegetarian diets are becoming more and more popular. With all the brainstorming and flavour, however, on rest-and-cheat days, a portion of roasted vegetables can save lunch or even a movie.

Why is it so popular?

As our pace has increased and our daily tasks have doubled, so have our lifestyles. Most of us are not working on the farm or doing manual labour. We spend most of our day sitting in an office, but we still need something nutritious. A diet based on vegetables means faster digestion, and indeed faster absorption, but sitting in front of the computer means we don't need to work our stomachs. I'm sure many of you know that feeling when a spicy steak and chips slips down your throat at lunch, maybe accompanied by some soup and a bite of brownie cube on the way back to your computer. After ten minutes, it's like a rock has been placed in our stomach and won't budge until we walk away with a bigger one. Lunching on vegetables puts much less strain on the stomach and further brain function, meaning no food coma.

Fast service, quick dinner, freshly baked

Hungarian stomachs are always mocked with the label „fried”, even though countries both near and far love fried in oil, crunchy goodies. If you think of Asian cuisine, we have found that they can also throw everything into pancake batter, fry it in oil and yes, somehow everything tastes better. Fresh, filling, delicious inside from the filling, be it vegetables, meat, fish or tofu. It's also becoming increasingly popular in restaurants, as they can serve fresh food in a jiffy. It's just a question of whether to make a remoulade, a hot tomato sauce or a quick guacamole.
