In fact, it can be considered a superfood. It is not negligible from a sustainability point of view, as it is available in huge quantities. Various edible marine grasses are called nori. The food industry produces a wide variety of ingredients from these sea „vegetables”. They can be a healthy alternative for sandwiches. The tasty saltiness and special al dente texture make it a suitable alternative to bread.

The two-poster csiperke, a tasty, edible mushroom that grows in gardens and pastures. It is also cultivated as it accounts for the majority of the world's mushroom production. Its large cap can be used as an alternative to bread. It can also be grilled, a delicious option with a drizzle of butter. Add salt and pepper and you have two mushroom buns that can be used for sandwiches or even burgers.

The stuffed California peppers

We are no strangers to stuffed food. Domestic cuisine abounds in them in recipes. In fact, it's a kind of sandwich. There's nothing stopping you from filling the peppers with your favourite sandwich fillings and throwing them in the oven. It can be used as an excellent substitute for bread. Sweet potatoes can be easily stuffed and baked in the oven.
