Popular in the US, watermelon soup is the star of garden parties, and can be a wonderful addition to ice cream desserts on a summer menu, or an exciting new addition to your bar food menu. Although it's a little time-consuming to prepare, you're guaranteed to get some attractive looks and lots of photos that will end up on Instagram.

Preparation

Cut a ripe watermelon into thin slices, then use a fluted cutting tool to make the fruit into a slit shape, then place in the freezer for a short time. Serve with a sweet dipping sauce, such as Greek yoghurt, berries - with raspberries, with blueberries, eperrel or with blackberries also works great. Finally, drizzle with agave syrup, honey or maple syrup for a sweet finish.

Spice it up!

The braver ones can season to taste, for example with spicy with flakes and with smoked paprika. Or simply serve with a few drops of lime juice and a pinch of crunchy sea salt. You can pair this with a sweeter yoghurt sauce or make it bursting with freshly squeezed lime juice and mint. You can also serve the melon wedges with other fruit, also cut into wedges. But choose harder fruit, like pears or apples, so they don't fall apart.

Alternatively, consider topping other desserts with the cut fruits serving. One cup of ice cream, cheesecake, but you can even use it to dress up a salad.
