Some people love it, and some avoid it by far. There are those who sweat it and those who can consume it by the handful without symptoms. But however our bodies react to it, one thing is certain: hot peppers are a health bomb. Now we reveal the plant's tricky secret!

It has long been known that peppers are extremely high in vitamin C. But in recent years, it has also been found that chilli peppers and the capsaicin compound they contain play an important role in the prevention of many tumours and in strengthening the immune system.

That's why chilli peppers sting, but not just in the mouth

Capsaicin is a very tricky compound. It is able to lower the threshold of sensory nerve cells in the mouth, in the gut, on the skin. This is what makes the soup spiced with paprika feel even hotter. But it's also what triggers the burning sensation when we rub our eyes with our hands. And it's also what makes us feel that the pain is being numbed by the chilli. Although the latter is mostly due to the fact that the burning sensation of the chilli suppresses the pain, who cares if the end result is useful!

Bomb for diseases

Several studies have shown that chilli has beneficial effects on malignant tumours. Among others, it inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells in prostate, breast, lung and stomach cancers.

Creams containing cassiacin are beneficial for a variety of skin conditions, including psoriasis. But it also lowers blood sugar levels, helping to prevent diabetes.

Helps you lose weight

Many of you will have experienced that excessive chilli consumption can even cause diarrhoea. This is because the capsaicin compound stimulates the metabolism and also reduces fat cell growth. This is why it is also effective in weight loss. Of course, don't forget to diet and exercise. Don't just expect chilli to work wonders!

It makes you happy and gives you happiness...

Creams containing capsaicin increase blood flow and speed up the removal of accumulated toxins from the body. They are also beneficial because they tighten connective tissues, making the skin smoother. This is why they are effective for cellulite. And by increasing blood circulation, they help to age the skin more slowly.

And why do we love spicy food so much? The answer lies in chemistry: after eating them, endorphins, or “happy hormones”, are released in the body, which have a positive effect on our well-being.

But don't expect miracles from chilli. It is a misconception that it fights viruses, pathogens and respiratory infections! Its respiratory stimulant effect is mainly due to its blood-clotting properties and the fact that the feeling of pungency suppresses a sore throat!

Capsicum is an essential ingredient in the for game dishes, a in a kettle for stews. Of course, chilli is not enough to make a super feast, as it requires super raw material! #
