As the World Cup approaches, everyone is excited to see who will make it to the last 16. Until then, we've brought you Lionel Messi's favourite dish, which is Milanese Napolitana. It's sure to be a podium after the first bite!

Ingredients for 4 people:

Preparing the milanese napolitana:

  • Pat the sliced sirloins, then season with salt and pepper to taste and leave to rest.
  • Fry the finely chopped onion and garlic in olive oil.
  • Add the tomato concentrate, salt and pepper and add the granulated sugar. Season with oregano and fresh basil.
  • Add some balsamic vinegar, boil for about 5-6 minutes and set aside.
  • To make the breadcrumbs, grate the Parmesan into the panko breadcrumbs, add the oregano and freshly ground pepper, and finally chop the fresh garlic.
  • Dredge the meat first in a little flour, then in the egg and finally in the panko breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the slices until golden brown, then place them on a napkin-lined tray.
  • Then sprinkle the top with grated mozzarella, top with a slice of ham, pile on the tomato sauce and finally top with another layer of mozzarella.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees until the cheese is browned. Serve with any variety of French fries and serve with fresh basil!

Enjoy your meal!
