It's almost time to get out our favourite warm autumn recipes and prepare for this colourful season. While you probably have some traditional favourites, it's always worth expanding your repertoire. Keep up with the latest trends this season, discovering the most appealing autumn dishes that only grow in popularity as the days get cooler!

The season of pumpkins

What's autumn without pumpkins? When we talk about autumn food and drink trends, pumpkin is inevitable. Of course, this vegetable is as popular this autumn as ever, but you'll also discover new ways to incorporate it into your menu. Pumpkin's unique flavour completes the autumn season: whether for lunch, dinner or dessert, you can find it in a wide variety of dishes. Make pumpkin, black bean, beef chili, pumpkin-mascarpone penne, pumpkin cheesecake, waffles or muffins! And don't miss out on one of the season's favourites, pumpkin cream soup!

Everything that is apple

Another iconic flavour of autumn is the apple, which is also in its peak season. Make the most of the crispness of freshly harvested apples, the variety of different varieties and use them as a side dish, a meal or a dessert. Baked apples are a great accompaniment to pork chops, just as spicy apple pie brings back happy childhood memories for most of us. Apples can also be used to make savoury cakes: apple-cheese-potato pie is a real speciality. Although a rarer choice, apples make an excellent jam to spread on toast or to enjoy in cakes.

Variety of bowls

The pleasure of sharing a meal together doesn't have to end with the end of summer! Everyone will find the perfect starter or the snacks they like on a varied platter. And charcuterie platters (platters of cold cuts, cheese, fruit) will be more popular than ever this year.

Making such a dish is quite simple and will make everyone happy. When making charcuterie bowls, feel free to experiment with your favourite cheeses, cold cuts, pastries, dried and raw fruits, seeds and much more! Use Aviko Cheese appetite suppressants, make a dip to go with them and you'll have a rich, unique dream dish for your guests. In the autumn, the black chilli cheddar falatka and the habanero red pepper cheese with red fur: the striking colours will immediately draw attention in a cavalcade of snacks!

Autumn drinks

Autumn is the time for tea. Tea is a healthy and delicious way to keep warm, but it's worth reviewing your tea selection: do you offer something more special than the simplest filtered black and fruit teas? Indian Masala Chai tea is a real spicy indulgence that you can make at home, and the simple but all the healthier lemon-ginger tea is even tastier when you make it with fresh ingredients.

The trend for mocktails is also taking shape. A mocktail is a non-alcoholic cocktail that offers a more complete taste experience with a variety of ingredients and flavours. A special autumn mocktail can be a (non-alcoholic) blueberry sangria, a bursting spicy-citrus drink or the harvest punch with apples, oranges and rosemary.

In autumn, coffees are flavoured to match the season. Pumpkin spice lattes have become a concept in their own right, but this time of year caramel and even maple syrup are more common. Dress up the familiar latte in an autumnal outfit!

Pickling

Since food purchased from local sources increasingly sought after, home pickling of various vegetables can be an attractive proposition. Exciting game, delicious result! You can try a wide variety of vegetables, the most common choices being cucumbers, peppers, beetroot, cauliflower, green beans and onions. Don't forget to emphasise in your restaurant's communication that you're serving handmade vitamin bombs!

Ready-made pickles are a great addition to the menu with autumnal side dishes such as Super Crunch crispy French fries. Rustic dishes, earthy colours and natural materials are perfect for the autumn mood, so choose the right tableware, accessories and decorations to crown the menu! A harmonious environment instantly creates a pleasant atmosphere.
