All of these are combined in Icie Bakery in the centre of Szekszárd, who opened their doors in 2021. A two-year experimentation period preceded the meeting with the public, which soon bore fruit. The Icie Bakery is a family business with a taste of family. One of the owners, Péter Jávor, is an electronics engineer who is responsible for the operational background, his wife Zsuzsi is the visionary and the heart and soul of the place, and their two sons are part-time employees of the bakery celebrating its 3rd birthday. Their trademarked logo, featuring four stars, is a symbol of this family unity. After a completely different type of successful business, Zsuzsi had a dream of owning her own bakery, so when she saw the space available for rent, she jumped at the chance. Shortly afterwards, the amelletti became available, so they were able to expand just when they needed to.
Homemade bakery products and own development
Fresh, homemade, sweet baked goods are their main concept, and one of their most popular products is the cinnamon sugar glazed snail. They also sell very well with their real American-style cheesecake, homemade pies, but also have a variety of croissant sandwiches, rolls, strudels, snails, buns, bars, muffins and muffins. The various colours and additives are unknown and you can't complain about the gluten-free/vegan offer. Although there is no shortage of pastry shops and cafés in the area, they are completely unique in their field and have quickly become popular. Their factory is located just 4 km from the city centre and as they use a blast chilling method, they are also happy to take on contract production.
„We always experiment with the recipes for our own baked goods ourselves in our home kitchens, then our pastry chefs perfect them and the machines do the lion's share of the work. Thanks to my background as a machinist, we have several machines that I have designed myself, tailored to our own needs. One of our mixers, for example, can also temper.” - says Peter. „Even though we have a wide range, the capacity of the plant is many times larger, so we want to become more widely known so that we can expand our business.” In addition to the bakery, they also have a tea factory where they make real, fibrous teas, which will soon be available in 6 different flavours. The ingredients for these are sourced from the best places. Black tea comes from Ceylon, jasmine from Java and green tea from China.
